Resolution 62-99 Vacating a Part of 8th Street

WHEREAS, the City Council of Mountain Iron has determined to vacate that part of 8th Street South between 17th Avenue West and 18th Avenue West, West Virginia Plat, Mountain Iron, Minnesota; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on December 20, 1999, before the City Council in the City Hall after due published and posted notice has been given by the City Administrator on November 24 and December 8, 1999, a reasonable attempt was made to give personal notice to all affected property owners, and all persons interested were given an opportunity to be heard; and

WHEREAS, any person, corporation or city owning or controlling easements contained upon the property vacated, reserves the right to continue maintaining the same or to enter upon such way or portion thereof vacated to maintain, repair, replace, remove or otherwise attend thereto; and

WHEREAS, it appears that it will be in the best interest of the City to vacate such streets; and

WHEREAS, four-fifths of all members of the City Council concur in this Resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA, that the street described as follows is hereby vacated: 8th Street South between 17th Avenue West and 18th Avenue West in the plat of WEST VIRGINIA, according to the recorded plat thereof on file in the Saint Louis County Recorder’s office, in the City of Mountain Iron.
