Resolution 52-99 Accepting Bid
ACCEPTING BID
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of a Single Family Housing Development Street and Utilities located on Mountain Iron Drive in the City of Mountain Iron, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:
Hammerlund Construction $498,755.50
Jola & Sopp Excavating $517,322.00
Wagner Construction, Inc. $533,175.00
Utility Systems of America $562,508.50
Louis Leustek & Sons, Inc. $596,611.18
KGM Contractors, Inc. $617,288.28
Ulland Brothers $678,830.00
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Hammerlund Construction of Grand Rapids, MN, is the lowest responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Hammerlund Construction of Grand Rapids, MN, in the name of the City of Mountain Iron for the construction of Residential Housing Development Street and Utilities according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
