Resolution 44-98 Accepting Bid
ACCEPTING BID
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the demolition of a 125,000 gallon elevated steel tank in the City of Mountain Iron, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:
Glenn Steeves Tank & Maintenance $13,800.00
Steelsmith Tank $18,740.00
J & D Enterprises, Inc. $19,235.45
TMI Coatings, Inc. $24,500.00
Iseler Demolition, Inc. $33,700.00
Veit Company $65,139.00
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Glenn Steeves Tank & Maintenance of Mora, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Glenn Steeves Tank & Maintenance of Mora, Minnesota, in the name of the City of Mountain Iron for the demolition of a 125,000 gallon elevated steel tank according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator.
2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
