RESOLUTION NUMBER 32-99

ACCEPTING BID

WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for a frontage road and utilities for a Community Center/City Hall in the City of Mountain Iron, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

Louis Leustek & Sons $314,734.50

KGM Contractors $321,790.50

U.S.A, Inc. $335,263.50

Hammerlund Const. $336,225.05

Wagner Const. $347,719.50

Mesabi Bituminous $372,478.80

Nels Nelson & Sons $384,513.79

AND WHEREAS, it appears that Louis Leustek & Sons of Ely, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA:

1. The Mayor and Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Louis Leustek & Sons of Ely, Minnesota, in the name of the City of Mountain Iron for the construction of a frontage road and utilities for a Community Center/City Hall according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator.

2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.

DULY ADOPTED THIS 19TH DAY OF JULY, 1999.
