Resolution 10-01 Summer Youth Grant
IRRRB SUMMER YOUTH JOB PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Mountain Iron, (hereafter referred to as the “Applicant”) is a City operating under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant has a need for a grant to fund wages for the Summer Youth Program to provide City-wide cleanup, commercial property site improvements, utility easement landscape/maintenance, park upgrades and city signage installation, (hereafter called “the Project”); and
WHEREAS, the Applicant has determined that it will need a grant from the IRRRB for $30,000.00 in order to complete the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant has available and will provide at least $30,000.00 as matching funds for the Project, which funds the Applicant will not use as matching funds for any other programs or projects, and
WHEREAS, the Applicant understands and agrees that the IRRRB will not provide funds to reimburse the applicant for any costs incurred for the Project prior to the date on which this Project is approved by the IRRRB; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant understands and agrees to adhere to the funding guidelines for the Summer Youth Job Program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Mountain Iron, Minnesota, that the Applicant organization hereby authorizes and approves making application to the IRRRB for a grant for $30,000.00 to provide funds to complete the Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of Mountain Iron, Minnesota, that the Applicant’s Mayor and City Administrator are authorized and directed to sign and submit an application for the said grant monies and all applicable contracts, documents and agreements associated with the grant or the application for it.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of Mountain Iron, Minnesota, that the Director of Public Works and the Parks and Recreation Director are hereby designated as the person who will supervise the Project and successfully complete the Project in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the IRRRB.
