Resolution 09-01 Accepting Bids

WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of various streets further described in Exhibit A, as attached hereto and made a part hereof, in the City of Mountain Iron, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

KGM $218,457.45/$14,140.00

Louis Luestek & Sons $230,706.95/$14,140.00

WHEREAS, it appears that Mesabi Bituminous of Gilbert, MN, is the lowest responsible bidder.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA:

1. The Mayor and Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Mesabi Bituminous of Gilbert, MN, in the name of the City of Mountain Iron for the improvement of various streets further described in Exhibit A, as attached hereto and made a part hereof, according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator.

2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.

3. The awarding of the Add/Alternate in Exhibit A to Mesabi Bituminous of Gilbert, Minnesota is also awarded pending final approval by the Mountain Iron Housing & Redevelopment Authority.

Duly Adopted by the city council this 16th Day of April, 2001.
