Resolution 04-03 21st Century Fund

WHEREAS, the 21st Century Mineral Fund was established to help the Iron Range transition from Taconite Mining and,

WHEREAS, the $39 million appropriation would benefit the area and the State through additional job growth; and, 

WHEREAS, this Fund is essential to the long term stability of Northern Minnesota,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA, that the $39 million dedicated to the 21st Century Fund be preserved and not be redirected to alleviate the budget deficit.

Duly adopted by the City Council this 21ST day of January, 2003.
