Resolution 02-00 Accepting Bid

WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Parkville and Silver Creek Drainage Improvements, a joint project between the City of Mountain Iron and the City of Virginia, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

George Bougalis & Sons Co. $122,510.00

Mesabi Bituminous Inc. $146,130.00

Kubena Construction $173,838.00

Hoover Construction Co. $193,370.00

Louis Leustek & Sons, Inc. $277,892.20

KGM Contractors, Inc. $332,430.00

WHEREAS, it appears that George Bougalis & Sons Co. of Hibbing, MN, is the lowest responsible bidder.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA:

1. The Mayor and Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the joint contract between the City of Mountain Iron and the City of Virginia with George Bougalis & Sons Co. of Hibbing, MN, in the name of the City of Mountain Iron for the Parkville and Silver Creek Drainage Improvements, a joint project between the City of Mountain Iron and the City of Virginia according to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Administrator.

2. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
