The purpose of the public hearing is to consider a request made by Loretta Sanders, for a Conditional Use (CUP) Permit. The CUP is for the use of a shipping container as an accessory structure. The property is legally described as follows:

Parcel Code: 175-0030-00040

Legal Description: PLAT NAME: MERRITTS 1ST ADDITION TO MOUNTAIN IRON; LOT 0008; BLOCK 024; DESCRIPTION: LOT: 0008 BLOCK: 024

Public Forum:

  • Ed Roskoski inquired about a lot in Ann’s Acres and one in Unity 2 regarding drainage problems created. Jerry Kujala, Zoning Administrator, responded that this would be a civil matter, not a City matter.
  • Roskoski again questioned why fabric structures cannot be allowed when no one can see them other than the property owner. Mr. Kujala, responded that fabric structures require a 150’ setback, however anyone can apply for a variance if they wish to install one.

At 7:11p.m. it was moved by Techar and seconded by Hunter to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried with Skogman absent.

Respectfully Submitted by:

Margaret Soyring, Secretary
