Mountain Iron Planning and Zoning Commission

Pro-term Assumed Chairman Barb Fivecoate called the Planning & Zoning meeting was called to order at 6:35p.m. with the following members present: Margaret Soyring, Barb Fivecoate, Steve Hunter, Al Stanaway, Mayor Peggy Anderson and Jerry Kujala, Zoning Administrator. Absent members: Jim Techar

It was moved by Fivecoate and seconded by Anderson to approve the minutes of the June 27, 2022 meeting as presented. The motion carried with Techar absent.

• There was a discussion on the blight throughout the Community, it was determined the blight Ordinances are the jurisdiction of the Health and Safety Committee. Mayor Anderson is going to talk to Administrator Wainio regarding some junk yards popping up.

• Zoning Administrator Jerry Kujala updated the Commission on ongoing situations, which he has either issued letters or tickets to the owners of the property.

It was moved by Fivecoate and seconded by Hunter to adjourn at 7:37 p.m. The motion carried with Techar absent.
