Public Safety & Health Board Meeting Minutes for March 29, 2017



WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29, 2017   6:30 p.m.



Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Al Stanaway.  Members present were Al Stanaway, Steve L. Hunter, Margaret Soyring and Brittany Chopp. Absent: Steve Skogman.  Also present were Fire Chief Knapper, Sargent Backman and City Administrator Wainio.


Skogman moved and Skalko seconded to approve the minutes of the October 26th and 31st, 2016 meeting.  Motion carried 4-0,


Committee Reports:

Fire Chief Knapper gave a report of the fire calls.  Stanaway moved and Hunter seconded to recommend to the City Council that Ryan Pontinen be appointed Assistant Fire Chief, Devin Rowe be appointed Training Officer and Dan Ronchetti be appointed Safety Officer.  Motion carried unanimously.



Chopp moved and Hunter seconded to recommend to the City Council the adoption of ordinance number 03-17 relating to all-terrain vehicles.  Motion carried unanimously.


Moved by Hunter seconded by Soyring that the board is in support of the Fire Department upgrading SCBA airpacks in the amount of $136,773.  Motion carried unanimously.


The blight ordinance, senior health fair and rental safety ordinance were discussed.



Motion by Hunter and supported by Chopp to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m.  Motion carried on a 4 – 0 vote.  Meeting adjourned.
