Public Health and Safety Minutes 09-27-17
MOUNTAIN IRON PUBLIC SAFETY & HEALTH BOARD
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2017 6:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairman Al Stanaway. Members present were Al Stanaway, Steve L. Hunter, Steve Skogman and Brittany Chopp. Absent: Margaret Soyring. Also present were Fire Chief Knapper and City Administrator Wainio.
Skogman moved and Chopp seconded to recommend to the City Council the approval of the proposal from HC Consulting for the updating of the Emergency Operations Plan. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Hunter seconded by Skogman that the board is in support of naming Gerry Knapper as Fire Chief. Motion carried unanimously.
The nuisance ordinance was reviewed.
The purchase of the SCBA’s was discussed
Skogman moved and Hunter seconded to recommend to the City Council that the City purchase five radios for the fire department at from DSC at the state bid price. Motion carried unanimously.
Skogman moved and Hunter seconded to request that the EDA take down the deer stand located in Woodland Estates immediately. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Skogman and supported by Hunter to adjourn the meeting at 7:23 p.m. Motion carried on a 4 – 0 vote. Meeting adjourned.
