PARK AND RECREATION MEETING
Wednesday, November 29, 2017
5:30 PM
The meeting was called to order by Jerry Kujala at 5:30 p.m. Board members present: Natalie Pankratz-Leff, Jerry Kujala, Steve Hunter, Tara LaMourea and Joe Prebeg. Absent: Gerry Golobich and Dennis Benz. Also present were Craig Wainio, City.
Moved by Prebeg supported by LaMoutea to approve the minutes of the September 27, 2017 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Prebeg moved and Hunter supported to rescind the motion naming the downstairs room at the Library the Mirium Kailanen room and name another city facility after her at a later date. Motion carried unanimously.
A discussion took place regarding the Glove Club. Prebeg discussed a meeting with members of the Merritt Days Committee. Prebeg moved and Hunter seconded to have a Merritt Days budget by February 1st. Motion carried unanimously.
Rinks were discussed including the hiring of Connie Murphy, Arin Marks, Colin Poitra, Bryce Wainio and Casey Kitner as rink attendants. Also the request was made to move the small boards from West Virginia rink to the South Grove Rink. Also posting schedule and closings on the door at the rink.
It was moved by Prebeg and Pankratz-Leff supported by to adjourn at 6:34 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
