Mountain Iron Planning and Zoning Commission

November 13, 2023

Chairperson Jim Techar called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following members present: Margaret Soyring, Al Stanaway, Lauren Buffetta, Steve Hunter, Barb Fivecoate, Mayor Peggy Anderson and Jerry Kujala, Zoning Administrator.

It was moved by Stanaway and seconded by Fivecoate  to accept the minutes of the September 11, 2023,  meeting with correction: It was moved by Buffetta and supported by Hunter to recommend the City Council approve the Amendment to Chapter 154 of the Mountain Iron City Code. The motion carried with Fivecoate absent

Public Forum:

• Mike Mitchell addressed the Commission on getting a Conditional Use and Variance permit to build a garage that will be converted into a Residential dwelling in the future which will cover over 38% of the lot which is over by 3% of City code

Discussion regarding if the Board received any new reports and information from the City Attorney on the Admiral Road property, Mayor Anderson is going to follow up

At 7:40p.m., it was moved by Fivecoate and seconded by Hunter that the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried.
