Regular Meeting Minutes

September 21, 2011

 

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Acting President Barb Fivecoate, at 5:35 p.m. with the following members present:  Barb Fivecoate, Andrea Wilson, Jeremy Jesch and Susan Tuomela Absent were Alan Stanaway, Bob Voss and Tony Zupancich. Also present was Executive Director, Craig Wainio and Gary Cerkvenik.

 

Consent Agenda:  A motion was made by Tuomela and supported by Fivecoate to approve the consent agenda.  Motion passed unanimously by roll call vote.

 

During the Public Forum Mr. Ed Roskoski inquired as to the number of unsold lots in Unity Second Addition and South Forrest Grove.

 

Wainio and Cerkvenik update the Board on a number of projects including Nelson-Williams, Big Timber Coffee, Surley Brewing and US Rail Car Corporation.  Also the Grand Opening for Silicon Energy will be on October 10th.

 

Mike Jacobsen was at the meeting to discuss a potential development, is looking for 10 acres non-highway to move his business to.  Will work with Wainio.

 

The Calvary Cemetery property and the wetlands delineation proposal were discussed.  The board’s consensus was that the $7,000 to $8,000 needed for the delineation was more then they wanted to invest at this time.  Also the consensus was that the appraisal price for the property was more than they wanted to invest.

 

Wilson moved and Fivecoate seconded to approve the certificate of completion for the St. Luke’s Clinic Development.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Fivecoate moved and Wilson seconded to obtain an appraisal of the Anderson property located South of South Grove.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

Wainio will obtain a status report on the two ongoing dump investigations.

 

A motion was made by Tuomela and supported by Wilson to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 p.m.  Motion passed unanimously.
