Regular Meeting Minutes

September 20, 2006

President, Tony Zupancich, called the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Dale Irish, Barb Fivecoate, Allen Nelson, Andrea Wilson, Bob Voss and Mary Jacobsen. 

October 
Joanie and Jeff Eichorn presented their storage building proposal for lands behind the Babich building in the Parkville Industrial Site. 

A motion was made by Mary Jacobsen and supported by Bob Voss for Craig Wainio to work with Eichorns to form a development agreement. Motion carried.

October 
A motion was made by Bob Voss and supported by Allen Nelson for Craig to schedule a public meeting for the proposed Eichorn lot sale. Motion carried.

October 
Gary Cerkvenik and Jeff Paulson presented the CBED grant wind energy update. 

October 
A motion was made by Mary Jacobsen and supported by Andrea Wilson to authorize expenditures of up to $15,000 towards legal fees for development of the wind energy project. Funds are to come from grant money received from the IRRB and Minnesota Power. Motion carried.

October 
A motion was made by Tony Zupancich and supported by Mary Jacobsen to authorize expenditures of $3,000 per month for 18 months for Newport Partners for development of the wind energy project. Funds to come from grant money received from the IRRB and Minnesota Power. Motion carried.

Tink Berchem, representing Mountain Timber, presented a proposed plan for a wood pellet project to be placed by the existing biomass project site.

A motion was made by Tony Zupancich and supported by Allen Nelson for Craig Wainio to work with Mountain Timber in forming a development agreement which includes JobZ status. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Dale Irish and supported by Bob Voss to accept the minutes of the September 6th meeting with the following correction: correct Andrea Wilson’s name. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Tony Zupancich to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried by roll call vote.

A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Tony Zupancich to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
