Regular Meeting Minutes

May 18, 2016

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Tony Zupancich at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Barb Fivecoate, Peter Zattoni, Sue Tuomela, and Tony Zupancich.  Absent members: Mary Jacobsen, Bob Voss and Andrea Wilson.  Also present: Executive Director, Craig Wainio.

Fivecoate moved and Tuomela seconded to approve the consent agenda.  Motion carried 4-0 on a roll call vote.

During the public forum the Board heard from Mrs. Betsy Olivanti from the UMD Center for Economic Development regarding the services they offer and how we may further work together to encourage businesses to establish and grow in the area.

Wainio updated the Board on the upcoming bid opening and other projects

Alan Johnson form Benchmark was in attendance and updates the Board on the scoping study for the proposed sweetwater project with respect to the waste water treatment options and soil conditions

The board was updated on the TIF for the proposed housing project.

Zattoni moved and Tuomela supported to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m.  Motion carried unanimously.
