Regular Meeting Minutes
April 20, 2016
A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Barb Fivecoate at 5:35 p.m. with the following members present: Barb Fivecoate, Peter Zattoni, Sue Tuomela, Mary Jacobsen, Bob Voss and Andrea Wilson. Absent members: Tony Zupancich. Also present: Executive Director, Craig Wainio and Gary Cerkvenik.
Jacobsen moved and Tuomela seconded to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried 6-0 on a roll call vote.
During the public forum the Board had an extensive discussion concerning the proposed workforce housing development with the developers. The developers requested a letter of support from the City and they establishment of a Tax Increment Financing District for the project. Voss moved and Fivecoate seconded to forward the project to the City Council for their consideration, motion carried 6-0.
Jacobsen moved and Tuomela supported to authorize the seeking of bids for the infrastructure for Woodland Estates. Motion carried 6-0 on a roll call vote.
A meeting of the housing subcommittee was scheduled for April 28th at 2:30pm.
Tuomela moved and Jacobsen supported to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
