April 26, 2023 Minutes
The April 26, 2023, Parks and Recreation Meeting was called to order at 5:00 by Joe Prebeg. Members present: Joe Prebeg, Macy Saari-Nelson, Steve Hunter and Arin Marks. Absent: Casey Kitner, Dennis Benz and Jon Loeffen. Also present Craig Wainio and Anna Amundson.
Hunter moved and Marks seconded to approve the January 25, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Old Business:
Benchmark to review parking at Wolf Park.
New Business:
Campground review with Darin and Donna Johnson with the following recommendations:
- Drain Tile Repair (may have already been completed)
- Replace Carpet
- Countertop
- Campsite Numbering at the beginning of the loops for directional purposes
- Stop sign at the Office
- Change the do not have to stop in the office if booking online, everyone should stop, Change web site
- Bolt down rumble strips
- Update no parking signs
- New swim buoys
- Screen Door
- Pavilion cement
- Beach sand
- Brushing of the loops
- Sheriff drive though once in awhile
Marks moved and Saari-Nelson seconded to recommend to the City Council that they approve the caretaker agreement with the Johnsons. Motion carried unanimously.
Update on the summer recreation program was provided. Amundson updated the board on the Easter egg hunt, garage sale, city cleanup 4th of July, national night out and Merritt Days.
Motion was made by Saari-Nelson and seconded by Marks to adjourn at 5:55 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
