MINUTES
MOUNTAIN IRON PUBLIC SAFETY & HEALTH BOARD
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27, 2015 6:30 p.m.
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. by Chairman Al Stanaway. Members present were Gary Skalko, Steve L. Hunter & Al Stanaway. Absent was Brittany Chopp and Steve Skogman. Also present was Fire Chief Greg Chad, Assistant Fire Chief Gerry Knapper, Sgt. Backman and City Administrator Wainio.
Approve Minutes:
Motion by Skalko and supported by Hunter to approve the minutes of the December 23, 2015 meeting. Motion passed 3 – 0.
Committee Reports:
Fire Chief/ First Responder Director Greg Chad gave a report of the fire calls and responder’s calls for the month. Sgt. Backman updated the Board on his department.
Business:
Hunter moved and Skalko supported to work with the American Red Cross to setup and hold a blood drive in Mountain Iron. Motion carried 3-0.
Fire Department discussed fire fighter exams prior to interviews. Skalko moved and Stanaway supported to have the Fire Department Officers come up with a plan and present it to the Board and to the Personnel Committee. Motion carried 3-0.
Adjourn:
Motion by Hunter and supported by Skalko to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 p.m. Motion carried on a 3 – 0 vote. Meeting adjourned.
