Resolution 28-02 Intent to Expand Service Area

WHEREAS, the City of Mountain Iron owns and operates an electrical utility within its Corporate limits, and;

WHEREAS, under Minnesota Statute 214B, Municipal Utilities have a right to service areas within the Corporate limits of the Community, and;

WHEREAS, Lake Country Power service area incorporates a portion of the Community in which the City would like to extend its service area.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA, that the City intents to expand its electrical utility service area to serve the area around Four Mile Lake.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Administrator and the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to undertake actions to expand the current service area into areas currently serviced by Lake Country Power.

DULY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THIS 15TH DAY OF JULY, 2002.
