Mountain Iron Planning and Zoning Commission

September 30, 2019

 The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Steve Skogman.

Those Present: Tim Johnston, Steve Skogman, Steve Erickson, Margaret Soyring, Barb Fivecoate and Jerry Kujala, Zoning Administrator. Absent members: Jim Techar

The Zoning Administrator Kujala reported that a lot in Ann’s Acres has been surveyed to determine if an accessory structure is meeting required setbacks. No results have been received yet.

It was moved by Soyring, and seconded by Fivecoate to recess the regular meeting and open the public hearing at 6:35 p.m. The motion carried with Techar absent.

The purpose of the public hearing is to rezone certain parcels within the City of Mountain Iron.

            Rezone the following from Multi-Family 2 to Commercial (Rock Ridge Development)

            Parcel 175-0047-00050

            Lot 0001, Block 003. ROCK RIDGE DEVELOPMENT

It was moved by Fivecoate, and seconded by Erickson to close the Public Hearing and resume the Regular Meeting. The motion carried with Techar absent.

It was moved by Fivecoate, and seconded by Soyring to recommend the City Council approve rezoning the parcel from Multifamily 2 to Commercial. The motion carried with Techar absent.

It was the consensus of the Commission that the City and EDA make necessary changes for development in a timely manner so special meetings will not have to be held in the future.

It was moved by Fivecoate and seconded by Johnston to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m. The motion carried with Techar absent.
