City of Mountain Iron, Minnesota

Refuse & Recycling Department

The City of Mountain Iron, in conjunction with Saint Louis County, operates and maintains its own refuse and recycling system. All residential and commercial sites within the City are served through this system. Mountain Iron offers general refuse pickup and recycling of paper, plastics, aluminum, glass and cardboard. Regular residential refuse pickup is once a week and recycling is picked up once a month based upon the Recycling Schedule. Various plans exist for commercial customers including larger cans and more frequent pickup service.
