RESOLUTION NUMBER 19-26

VERIFYING CURRENT WASTEWATER USER RATES AND ESTIMATED FUTURE RATES

WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the City’s current wastewater user rates, as adopted on April 1, 2026 shown in Exhibit A; and

WHEREAS, the City is pursuing financial assistance for improvements to its wastewater treatment facility; and

WHEREAS, the estimated future wastewater rates associated with the Project are shown in Exhibit B and may vary based on the final Project cost, grant assistance, financing terms, operating costs, and other applicable factors;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON, MINNESOTA:

 

1. The City Council ratifies its prior rate action and verifies that Exhibit A represents the City’s currently adopted and enacted wastewater user-rate schedule.

 

2. The City Council acknowledges the estimated future wastewater rates or rate ranges shown in Exhibit B for planning and funding application purposes and will be adjusted based on funding availability and final project costs.

 

3. The rates shown in Exhibit B are estimates and are not enacted by this resolution. Final future rates will be established by subsequent City Council action after the Project funding and financing package is determined.

 

4. The Mayor, City Administrator, and other appropriate City officials are authorized to submit this resolution and its exhibits to the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority.
