February 28, 2024 Minutes

The February 28, 2024, Parks and Recreation Meeting was called to order at 5:01 by Joe Prebeg. Members present: Joe Prebeg, Macy Saari-Nelson, Steve Hunter, Arin Marks, Casey Kitner and Dan Lind.  Absent: None. Also present Craig Wainio. 

Marks moved and Kitner seconded to approve the April 26, 2023 meeting minutes.  Motion carried unanimously.

Welcomed new member Dan Lind.

New Business:

Board was updated on the list, provided by the Johnsons, of items for improvement at the Campground.  The Johnsons will not be coming back as caretakers for the 2024 season.  It was moved by Kitner and seconded by Saari-Nelson to advertise for the caretaker position.  Motion carried unanimously.

Lind moved and Marks seconded to explore the possibility of adding a splash pad at the South Grove Rec Complex as part of the proposed updates that are coming.  Motion carried unanimously

Open Discussion:

Electrical upgrades at the West Two Rivers Campground.  Wood chips at the various playgrounds.  Mark Madden and Jesse White are working together to enhance our summer fast pitch softball program.

Motion was made by Kitner and seconded by Hunter to adjourn at 6:03 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
