Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority Meeting Minutes

October 14, 2025

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Barb Fivecoate at 5:02 p.m. with the following members present: Corey Nelson, Barb Fivecoate, Julie Buria, Eric Monson and Alan Johnson. Absent members: Brad Gustafson, Steve Giorgi. Also present: Executive Director, Craig Wainio.

Nelson moved and Buria seconded to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried 5-0 on a roll call vote.

It was agreed to reach out to Tapestry to get last years score and find out why this years was so much lower.

Arsenic was found on the site but it is buildable and would need to be monitored during construction. An estimate will be developed for the cleanup and possible funding sought through DEED for cleanup. Would Viking still be interested?

Buria moved and Nelson seconded to adjourn the meeting at 5:35 p.m. Motion carried unanimous}y.
