Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority

Meeting Minutes

August 12, 2025

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Barb Fivecoate at 5:00 p.m. with the following members present: Brad Gustafson, Corey Nelson, Steve Giorgi, Barb Fivecoate, Julie Buria, Eric Monson and Alan Johnson.  Absent members: None. Also present: Executive Director, Craig Wainio.

Buria moved and Monson seconded to approve the consent agenda.  Motion carried 7-0 on a roll call vote.

Johnson moved and Gustafson seconded to send the owners of the old high school a certified letter asking what their intent was with the school.  Motion carried 7-0.

Gustafson moved and Nelson seconded to accept the 2024 Audit. Motion carried 7-0.

Giorgi moved and Buria seconded to approve the Phase 2 proposal from NTS.  Motion carried 7-0.

Fivecoate moved and Buria seconded to contact lot 10 in South Forest Grove to buy the other half of Lot 9.  Fivecoate rescinded the motion.  Gustafson moved and Monson seconded to contact Lot 10 buy half of lot 9, if not combine 8 and 9 and negotiate a price if lot 10 is not willing to participate come back to the EDA.  Notion carried 7-0.

The sale of Macs was discussed as well as breakfast connections, woodland estates declarations and illegal dumping at Mashkenode.

Buria moved and Giorgi seconded to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 p.m.  Motion carried unanimously.
