Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority
Meeting Minutes
July 9, 2024
A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Barb Fivecoate at 5:01 p.m. with the following members present: Peggy Anderson, Alan Johnson, Kim Koebensky, and Brad Gustafson. Absent members: Corey Nelson, Julie Buria, and Executive Director, Craig Wainio.
Gustafson moved and seconded by Johnson to approve the consent agenda with the update to the Meeting minutes from June 11, 2024 noting that Kim Koebensky was present. Motion carried 5-0 on a roll call vote.
Ed Roskoski provided public input regarding what he heard about Superior Fuel.
No new updates were discussed regarding unfinished business of KOOTASCA and Tapestry housing developments.
Janelle Greschner and Whitney Ridlon from the Department of Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation presented the available grant and loan programs.
Gustafson discussed an update regarding an upcoming meeting for Main Street American E3 program scheduled for August 8. A link to a business survey was provided to members and asked to distribute. Also discussed was an update regarding the Age Friendly Community project. A small group will be present at the Merritt Days to get community members to join the group. A follow-up meeting will be held September 9, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Senior Center Buliding.
Anderson moved and seconded by Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 6:25 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
