Mountain Iron Planning and Zoning Commission

June 25, 2018

 Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Steve Skogman.

Those Present: Barb Fivecoate, Steve Erickson, Tim Johnston, Steve Skogman, Margaret Soyring, and Jerry Kujala, Planning and Zoning Administrator. Absent Jim Techar

Motion by Skogman and supported by Johnston to approve the minutes of the May 29, 2018 meeting as presented. Motion carried with Techer absent.

Ed Roskoski questioned a road and culvert off Mineral Avenue by the 169 off ramp. He was informed that it is private property and it is to access the property.

Tony and Amy Mason did a presentation on The Range Valhalla Indoor/Outdoor Shooting Range.

Moved by Soyring and supported by Fivecoate to set a Public Hearing for July 9, 2018 to add: entertainment, cultural, recreational and amusement establishments to Industrial District permitted uses. Motion carried. Techar absent.

Kujala reported that the Sawmill did not have a permit for a storage building and it did not meet setbacks. He will be contacting them to rectify the situation.

Kujala has been contacted by the Gunderson’s to write a letter to the Department of Labor for code violations in the construction of their home in South Forest Grove.

Moved by Johnston and supported by Fivecoate to set a Public Hearing for July 9, 2018 to rezone lot 3 and 4, block 2 of Nichols Park Addition from Industrial to Commercial and add Licensed Daycare to Commercial District as a permitted use. Motion carried with Techar absent.

July 23, 2018 was set as an Ordinance Review meeting with the option of business meeting if needed.

Motion to adjourn at 7:05 by Fivecoate and supported by Johnston. Motion carried with Techar absent.
