Mountain Iron Planning and Zoning Commission

June 23, 2025

Vice-Chairperson Lauren Buffetta called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following members present:  Margaret Soyring,  Al Stanaway, Steve Giorgi , Mayor Peggy Anderson. Absent Techar and Fivecoate

Moved by Stanaway, supported by Giorgi to accept the consent agenda and approve the minutes of the June 9, 2025 meeting with correction: Buffetta did not vote on the Dall CUP. Motion carried. Techar and Fivecoate absent.

Moved by Giorgi, supported by Soyring  to  recommend the following changes to Ordinance 04-25 Regulation Cannabis Businesses as pertain to Planning Zoning:

 Under (E) Definitions: Clarification of (1) Cannabis Cultivation

(B) Zoning and Land Use

 (1) Cultivation. Remove Urban Residential Non Sewered and Mineral Mining

(2) Cannabis Manufacturer. Remove Commercial

(3) Hemp Manufacturer. Remove Commercial

(4) Wholesale. Remove Commercial and Cannabis Retail

(6) Cannabis Transportation. Remove Commercial

Motion carried. Techar and Fivecoate absent.

Moved by Stanaway, supported by Giorgi to adjourn at 7:10 p.m. Motion Carried.
