Mountain Iron Planning and Zoning Commission

May 13, 2019

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Steve Skogman.

Those Present: Jim Techar, Steve Skogman, Steve Erickson, Margaret Soyring, and Jerry Kujala, Planning and Zoning Administrator. Absent members: Barb Fivecoate and Tim Johnston.

Moved by Techar, supported by Soyring to approve the minutes from the April 22, 2019 meeting. Motion carried with Fivecoate and Johnston absent.

During public forum Kyle McKenna of Mountain Iron, MN inquired about a variance for a storage building on his property.

Kujala reported that there has been an inquiry about a storage container in downtown Mountain Iron. There is no ordinance governing these containers, they just have to meet setbacks. They will be discussed at the next ordinance meeting.

Moved by Erickson and supported by Soyring to get an updated map in the Council chambers. This map is needed to determine if areas are properly zoned for construction. Motion carried with Fivecoate and Johnston absent.

Motion to adjourn at 7:06 p.m. by Soyring, supported by Erickson. Motion carried with Fivecoate and Johnston absent.
