PARK AND RECREATION MEETING

Wednesday, March 28, 2017

5:30 PM

The meeting was called to order by Joe Prebeg at 5:33 p.m.  Board members present: Natalie Pankratz-Leff, Steve Hunter, Tara LaMourea and Joe Prebeg.   Absent: Jerry Kujala, Gerry Golobich and Dennis Benz.  Also present were Craig Wainio, City Administrator and Sally Yuccas, Library Director.

Moved by LaMourea supported by Hunter to approve the minutes of the February 28, 2018 meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

Yuccas discussed her retirement and Merritt Days.

Hunter moved and Leff supported to recommend approval of the caretaker agreement with the Johnson’s.  Motion carried unanimously.

LaMourea moved and Leff supported to recommend that the City Council issue the Request for Proposals for the South Grove Recreation Complex master plan.  Motion carried unanimously.

Leff moved and LaMourea supported to recommend that the City Council authorize the advertisement for summer workers with an increase in pay to $12.00 an hour.  Motion carried unanimously.

Skating rink info was reviewed.  Hunter moved and LaMourea supported to place an open or closed sign on the north side of the complex for easy viewing of when the rink is open or closed.  Motion carried unanimously.

Tennis backboard at South Grove, Easter Egg Hunt, MisMashMush, Volunteer Dinner where discussed.

It was moved by Neff and LaMourea supported by to adjourn at 6:23 p.m.  Motion carried unanimously.
