ORDINANCE NUMBER 03-00

ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER AND THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION THREE, TOWNSHIP 57 NORTH, RANGE 18 WEST OF THE FOURTH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, SAINT LOUIS COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN IRON DOES ORDAIN:

Section 1.        The City of Mountain Iron has received a petition from the owner of record of the property described in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, requesting the annexation of said lands into the corporate limits of the City of Mountain Iron, which land is located in Clinton Township, Saint Louis County, Minnesota, and is described in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof.

Section 2.        The City of Mountain Iron has notified the supervisors of Clinton Township, all owners of record of the property described in Exhibit A attached hereto, and all land owners within and contiguous to the area to be annexed, of said annexation petition and a hearing thereon was held at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mountain Iron City Council on November 20, 2000, at 6:30 p.m., at which time the City of Mountain Iron took testimony for and against said annexation.

Section 3.        The City of Mountain Iron is empowered pursuant to Minnesota Statute 414.033 to annex the subject property by Ordinance and by the execution of this Ordinance directs that said property be annexed into the City of Mountain Iron.

Section 4.        The City hereby directs that the zoning map described in Section 22.03, Subdivision 2, of the Mountain Iron City Code be amended to include property described in Exhibit A, and further that the property in Exhibit A conforms to the provisions of Section 22.05.

Section 5.        The Mountain Iron City Administrator is directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the following boards and agencies: Minnesota Office of Strategic and Long Range Planning, Clinton Township, Saint Louis County Auditor and the Minnesota Secretary of State.

Section 6.        That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect pursuant to law.

Section 7.        All Ordinances or parts thereof which are inconsistent with the Ordinance are hereby  repealed.

DULY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 20TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2000.

Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 3,

Meridian, Saint Louis County, Minnesota

containing approximately 41.14 acres.

 

And

 

That part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter

of Section 3, Township 57 North, Range 18 West of the Fourth

Principal Meridian, Saint Louis County, Minnesota, lying west

of the westerly right-of-way line of  County Road 955, containing approximately 3.86 acres.
