Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority

Meeting Minutes

February 10, 2026

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by Barb Fivecoate at 5:02 p.m. with the following members present: Brad Gustafson, Steve Giorgi, Corey Nelson, Julie Buria, Barb Fivecoate, Eric Monson and Alan Johnson.  Absent members: None. Also present: Executive Director, Craig Wainio.

Monson moved and Giorgi seconded to approve the consent agenda.  Motion carried 7-0 on a roll call vote.

Kootasca will attended the meeting.  Gustafson moved and Monson seconded to move the Kootasca proposal to the City Council for approval.  Motion carried unanimously

Giorgi moved and Fivecoate seconded to sever the relationship with Tapestry.  Motion failed 3 to 4.

Election of Officers.  Chair Giorgi nominated Monson, carried 7-0.  Vice Chair Buria nominated Fivecoate.  Monson nominated Gustafson and Fivecoate nominated Nelson.  After a tie voted between Gustafson and Nelson, Gustafson withdrew and Nelson was elected Vice.

Gustafson moved and Nelson supported moving the RFP for comp plan to the City Council for approval.  Motion carried unanimously.

Munson moved and Buria seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 p.m.  Motion carried unanimously.
