Schedule of Events for 2017 Merritt Days

Saturday, August 5th: Annual Adult Co-ed Kick Ball Tournament will be held at the South Grove complex.
Please call Ryan Anderson at 780-6164 to register your team.
Sunday, August 6th to Friday August 11th

City-wide Treasure Hunt clues begin. Clues published in the local paper and posted at City Hall and the Mountain Iron
Library daily. (No clues on Monday August 7th) The hidden “treasures” are metal pieces clearly marked. Treasure
hunt closes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14th, 2017. Bring the treasure to the City Hall for your prize.
Sunday, August 6th: Family Fun Day at West Two Rivers Campground from 1-5 p.m. Come and enjoy
music, contests, tournaments, sand castle contest, bean bags, frozen T-shirt and more! Concessions will be available.
Wednesday, August 9th: ACTIVITIES HELD IN DOWNTOWN MOUNTAIN IRON
6:00 pm: “Mr. Jim” – Family Show at the downtown park. Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy this professional kid’s
show. In case of rain, the show will be held at the Senior Center.
7:30 pm: Cowboy Angel Blue at the downtown park. In case of rain, this event will be at Mac’s Bar.
Thursday, August 10th: ACTIVITIES IN DOWNTOWN MOUNTAIN IRON
6:00 pm: “Ant and the Grasshopper” Show at the Mt. Iron Library
8:30 pm – 11:30 pm: 4 Blue Teardrops at Mac’s Bar.
Friday, August 11th: ACTIVITIES HELD IN DOWNTOWN MOUNTAIN IRON
5:00 pm: Concessions open on Main Street
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm: BINGO at the Mountain Iron Senior Center.
6:00 pm: Bean Bag Tournament at the American Legion. Call the Legion to register.
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm: Music by “Vitamin Brown” on Main Street stage.
9:00 pm – 12:00 am: Music by “Kutdown” on Main Street Stage
Saturday, August 12th: ACTIVITIES HELD IN DOWNTOWN MOUNTAIN IRON
8:00 am. – Noon: Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Center sponsored by the Lions Club.
8:00 am: Registration opens for annual Walk/Run Race at the Mt. Iron Library. Call 735-8625 for information.
9:00 am: 10th Annual Larry Nanti Walk/Run Race begins and will be held rain or shine.
9:00 am: B.G.’s Greg Petersen Memorial Wooden Bat Softball Tournament at South Grove Complex.
Noon – 3:00 pm: Open House at the Mountain Iron Library.
Noon – 4:00 pm: Classic Car Show on Main Street.
12:30 pm – 3:30 pm: Kids Corner activities and fun at the downtown park.
1:00 pm: Amazing Charles performs at the downtown park.
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Bingo at the Mountain Iron Senior Center.
1:00 pm: Pickleball Open House: come to learn and play this exciting sport at the South Grove Complex. Get hooked
on pickleball during Merritt Days!
3:00 pm: Amazing Charles performs at the downtown park.
4:00 pm: Parade line-up and judging at the West end of Main Street.
4:30 pm: Parade begins.
