Regular Meeting Minutes

November 1, 2006

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by President Tony Zupancich at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Allen Nelson, Andrea Wilson, Barb Fivecoate, Dale Irish and Mary Jacobsen. Bob Voss joined the meeting at 5:45. Also present was Executive Director, Craig J. Wainio and Mt. Iron EDA representative Gary Cerkvenik.

Representatives from Windlogics and Minnesota Power gave a presentation on wind energy and CBED projects. 

A motion was made by Tony Zupancich and supported by Barb Fivecoate authorizing the EDA to send a letter to Mesabi Community College asking them to remove the debris around the millwright building site in Parkville by April 1, 2007. Motion Carried.

A motion was made by Barb Fivecoate and supported by Bob Voss to approve Resolution No. 09-06 to levy for real estate taxes the maximum amount for EDA. Motion was approved with Dale Irish voting against.

A motion was made by Alan Nelson and supported by Barb Fivecoate to approve the minutes of the October 4th, 2006 meeting. Motion Carried.

A motion was made by Alan Nelson and supported by Mary Jacobsen to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $2,861.44 as presented. Motion carried by roll call vote.

A motion was made by Barb Fivecoate and supported by Andrea Wilson to authorize the payment for expenses of up to $1,500 for Craig Wainio to attend the wood pellet plant tour in Buffalo, NY on November 13th and 14th. Motion carried with Dale Irish voting against.

A motion was made by Bob Voss and supported by Barb Fivecoate to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried. 

President, Tony Zupancich adjourned the meeting at 6:35 p.m.
