Economic Development Authority Meeting Minutes for July 12, 2006
Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority
July 12, 2006
Vice President Barb Fivecoate called the Economic Development Authority meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Dale Irish, Mary Jacobsen and Bob Voss. Also present was Gary Cerkvenik.
James Bymark presented the proposed development agreement for the Range Regional Health Services.
A motion was made by Dale Irish and supported by Bob Voss to table action on the development agreement until the next meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Allen Nelson joined the meeting at 6:40 p.m.
The East Dhu River Sawmill relocation was discussed. A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Barb Fivecoate that a 90 day option on the land behind United Electric extending north to the power station be given to East Dhu so that a development agreement may be finalized. Motion passed with Mary Jacobsen abstaining.
Gary Cerkvenik addressed the Authority regarding the need for the Authority to identify potential sites for a spec building/renewable energy park, as a $500,000 grant has been awarded to the city for this purpose. A 20 acre minimum site is required.
The mine Dump Grading summary was discussed.
A motion was made by Mary Jacobsen and supported by Dale Irish to table further discussion of the summary until the next meeting. Motion carried.
A discussion was held regarding the Laurentian Energy Authorities hauling fill material free of charge to their site.
A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Dale Irish to table further discussion until the next meeting so that Craig Wainio can review the development agreement and minutes pertaining to this issue.
A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Barb Fivecoate to accept the minutes of the June 21st meeting. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Mary Jacobsen and supported by Andrea Wilson to pay the July bills as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Andrea Wilson to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
Barb Fivecoate adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
