Regular Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2010

A meeting of the Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority was called to order by President Tony Zupancich at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Tony Zupancich, Barb Fivecoate, Andrea Wilson, Bob Voss, Alan Stanaway, Allen Nelson and Mary Jacobsen. Also present was executive director, Craig J. Wainio. Absent: None

Consent Agenda: A motion was made by Barb Fivecoate and supported by Bob Voss to approve the consent agenda. Motion passed unanimously by roll call vote.

Public Forum: Ed Roskoski asked if the South Forest Grove development can only be single family homes. He was informed it could only be single family homes.

Communication: 
Jim Bymark from the Fairview Clinic was contacted regarding their expansion plans per the development agreement. He responded with an e-mail stating they were advancing the project through their corporate approval process. Craig will follow up with him regarding time lines as they were to begin development this month. 

Committee and Staff Reports:

Craig Wainio reported that he and Alan Stanaway attended the Lakehead Constructors open house.

Craig Wainio reported that Perkins should be open for business by Mother’s Day.

Craig Wainio reported about grants received for the Renewable Energy Park, Park Ridge and that bids are going out for the Renewable Energy Park.

New Business:

South Grove Forest Ridge Covenants: The special provisions from the Planning and Zoning Committee were reviewed. A motion was made by Alan Stanaway and supported by Mary Jacobsen to accept Ordinance Number 02-10. Motion passed with Allen Nelson voting against. 

South Grove Forest Ridge Signage: A motion was made by Barb Fivecoate and supported by Alan Stanaway to erect a large sign at the entrance to the development along with a smaller lot identifying signs on each individual lot and to look into a large sign for the highway. Motion passed. 

Announcements:

Nothing further is known regarding the Rock Ridge Development or the proposed pellet plant.

A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Barb Fivecoate to adjourn the meeting. 

President Tony Zupancich adjourned the meeting at 5:55 p.m.
