Economic Development Authority Meeting Minutes for April 06, 2005

April 6, 2005

Larry P. Johnson called the Economic Development Authority meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Larry P. Johnson, Anthony Zupancich, Dale Irish, Alan Nelson, Mary Jacobsen, Barb Fivecoat and Jason Goehring. Also present was Craig J. Wainio.

A motion was made by Tony Zupancich and supported by Mary Jacobsen to approve the minutes with the start time to be changed to 5:30 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.

A discussion was held regarding the U.S.D.A. proposed lot. 

A motion was made by Barb Fivecoat and supported by Mary Jacobsen to leave the proposed U.S.D.A. lot as it was previously discussed. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Dale Irish to ask an attorney about entering into a development agreement prior to the clean up of the landfill. The motion was withdrawn.

Gary Cerkvenik and the Birchems addressed the authority regarding entering into a development agreement with Birchem Logging. A discussion followed. 

A motion was made by Jason Goehring to forward the option agreement with Berchem Logging to the city attorney for review. The motion was rescinded. 

A motion was made by Mary Jacobsen and supported by Jason Goerhing that Barb Fivecoat and Tony Zupancich meet with Gary Cerkvenik and Berchem logging to work out a proposal to present to the authority. Motion Passed unanimously.

Gary Cerkvenik was interviewed by the Authority for the advertised Economic Development position. 

A motion was made by Jason Goehring and supported by Tony Zupancich to table any hiring until a later date and to continue advertising for the position. Motion passed unanimously. 

A motion was made by Jason Goehring and supported by Barb Fivecoat to approve paying the bills but to hold the Benchmark Engineering payment until that time when services rendered are completed. Passed with Alan Nelson voting no.

A motion was made by Tony Zupancich to adjourn the meeting. Supported by Barb Fivecoat. Motion passed unanimously. 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
