Mountain Iron Economic Development Authority Meeting
April 2, 2008

President Tony Zupancich called the Economic Development Authority meeting to order at 5:30 with the following members present: Alan Stanaway, Andrea Wilson, Bob Voss, Allen Nelson, and Mary Jacobsen. Absent: Barb Fivecoate Also present was Executive Director, Craig J. Wainio.

A motion was made by Tony Zupancich and supported by Bob Voss to accept the consent agenda including the minutes of the March 5, 2008 meeting and payment of the bills as presented. Motion passed unanimously by roll call vote. 

No Public Forum

New Business: 
Jim Bymark, of the Fairview Clinic, requested a 2 year extension for the previous development agreement signed for the clinic expansion. 
A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Mary Jacobsen that the First Amendment to the Development agreement be approved contingent upon attorney review. Motion passed unanimously. 

Committee and Staff Reports:
Craig Wainio suggested that the E.D.A. look into a land purchase of the Briarwood Estates. 
A motion was made by Tony Zupancich and supported by Alan Stanaway that Craig look further into the idea. Motion passed unanimously.

Craig Wainio reported progress on two possible projects in the area. He also reported that Lake Country Power is moving ahead as planned.

A motion was made by Allen Nelson and supported by Alan Stanaway to adjourn the meeting. 

President Tony Zupancich adjourned the meeting at 5:59 p.m.
